The Hebridean Whale Trail which officially opens in May 2019 is a Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust project which aims to create a network of 25 whale-watching sites that will showcase some of the best places to see marine wildlife on the west coast of Scotland. The trail route will connect the sites, from headlands and sea lochs, to white-sand beaches and busy harbours, as well as visitor centres.

The trail is an extension of the amazing work being carried out by the HWDT which is based on the Isle of Mull.

You can find out more about the trail here and further information about HWDT here.

2019's "Must-see destination"

More accolades for the Highlands and Islands after Lonely Planet named it as one of their ‘must-see’ destinations for 2019. Describing the Highlands as “a great introduction to one of the wildest, least inhabited and most scenic parts of Europe” Lonely Planet also pointed out the growth in quirky and out-of-the-way accommodation helping to make the area more accessible.

We’d like to think that Lady Andorina fits well in the ‘quirky’ accommodation niche!

Anyway…here’s a short but beautifully shot video from Visit Scotland that gives a really nice taste of what you’re in for when you come and join us in this most amazing of places.

There's a warm welcome waiting for you in the Highlands!

If you’d visited us on Lady Andorina around the middle of January you’d have been able to see first hand why most of the Highlands shuts up shop for the winter. Frost, snow and rain coming in sideways are all part of the Caledonian canal Winter Wonderland Experience and we got it all!

However, I’m pleased to report that Lady Andorina survived everything the Highlands winter could throw at her and we’ll be ready to start the season as usual on the 1st of April.

So, Brexit or no Brexit you’re sure of a warm welcome from all the people of the Highlands as we strive to match the region’s ancient traditions of hospitality, in this beautiful land of whisky, history, culture and mind-blowing landscapes.

I hope we see you soon!

When Death's dark stream I ferry o'er,
A time that surely shall come;
In Heaven itself I'll ask no more
Than just a Highland welcome.
